At Lavender Psychology, we work with adolescents (16+) and adults of all ages who are navigating life’s challenges, exploring their identities, or seeking support to feel more grounded and connected. Therapy is collaborative, respectful, and always shaped around your unique needs and goals. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply not yourself lately, this is a space where you can slow down, feel seen, and work toward what matters most to you, without judgment, pressure, or expectation. Our approach is inclusive, trauma-informed, and affirming of all identities and neurotypes.
You’re Welcome Just As You Are

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a transformative therapy that helps individuals heal from distressing memories and trauma. By guiding the brain’s natural ability to process experience, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to reduce the weight of painful emotions and unhelpful beliefs, creating space for growth, resilience, and lasting relief.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) empowers individuals to build a meaningful life by fostering acceptance of difficult thoughts and feelings while taking purposeful action toward their values. Through mindfulness and self-compassion, ACT helps clients develop the flexibility to face challenges with clarity and strength, guiding them toward a more fulfilling and authentic life.

Imagery Rescripting is a powerful therapeutic approach that transforms the emotional impact of painful memories. By revisiting and reimagining these experiences in a safe and supported environment, clients can rewrite their inner narrative, reducing emotional distress and building a renewed sense of peace and empowerment.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) offers practical tools for navigating intense emotions, building healthy relationships, and cultivating balance in daily life. With its focus on mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness, DBT provides a compassionate path to living with greater stability, confidence, and connection.

Mindfulness is the practice of cultivating present-moment awareness with curiosity and compassion. By shifting focus away from distractions and judgments, it supports emotional balance, reduces stress, and deepens connection to oneself and the world. It offers a grounding way to approach challenges with greater clarity and calm.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) helps individuals uncover and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, fostering healthier emotional responses and behaviour. By providing practical, evidence-based strategies, CBT supports clients in breaking free from negative cycles, empowering them to face challenges with resilience and optimism.

No, Telehealth sessions offered outside of regular clinic days and hours do not incur an extra fee.
To get the most out of your first session, it can be helpful to think about what brought you to therapy and what goals you'd like to work on. You may also want to gather any relevant medical or psychological history that might be helpful for your psychologist to know. However, there's no need to feel overwhelmed and your psychologist will guide you through the process and help you feel comfortable.
During your first session at Lavender Psychology, you can expect an initial assessment where we’ll take time to understand your concerns, goals, and any relevant background information. This helps us tailor the therapy to suit your specific needs. We’ll discuss any questions you may have about the process, confidentiality, and what to expect from therapy. We may also begin discussing any immediate challenges you're facing, as well as explore suitable therapeutic approaches.
It’s a safe, non-judgmental space, so feel free to share as much or as little as you're comfortable with. You’ll leave with a better understanding of the therapy process and how we can work together to help you reach your goals. If you have any concerns or need clarification before the session, don't hesitate to contact us.
Everyone’s journey in therapy is different. Some people come for a short time to focus on a particular concern, while others find value in longer term support. There is no right or wrong way to approach therapy. It is about what feels helpful for you. We will check in together along the way to make sure it continues to meet your needs. You are always welcome to pause, return, or make changes as things evolve.
If you're experiencing a mental health crisis or feel unsafe, please contact a 24/7 support service such as Lifeline (13 11 14), Beyond Blue (1300 22 4636), or call 000 in an emergency. For urgent mental health support outside of session times, these services are best equipped to provide immediate care.
We do not provide psychological reports or letters for legal or medico-legal purposes. Our focus is on providing therapeutic support to help clients improve their mental health and well-being. If you require a report for legal, employment, or insurance purposes, we recommend seeking assistance from a psychologist or other professional who specialises in such documentation.
